Reza Shah, Pahlavi I
This clip has shattered a few wrong impressions I have had all along in regard to Pahlavi, the first. I thought he was bald. In this clip he is not, he just had a military crewcut, that is all. The Japanese ambassador to the royal court in Tehran at the time had opined in his diary that despite his imposing stature and yet more imposing presence, Reza Shah's voice was soft and a little feminine. Absolutely not. His voice is quite normal. Despite his very humble beginning and upbringing, his demeanor and self conduct while visiting with one of the greats of the Eastern history Mustafa Kemal Pash Ataturk, Reza Shah was quite graceful, elegant, and above all very natural unlike his good-for-nothingحیفِ نونdemented son who was all pretense and falsehood. Please watch this truly great, albeit much flawed, man of our recent history and think , just imagine how differently he would have acted had he been the reigning monarch during Khomeini's sedition. Above all, he spoke a foreign language, which of course happened to be his mother tongue, but he never pretended, showed off, or touted it during his entire life, and I dont't know of any historian to have mentioned Reza Shah's fluency in Turkish(Turkic) language.

For years Rhim and I are arguing to see which face of Reza shah is more prominent in history. His dictorial power monging side or his love of Iran and all he did to drag our country out of quagmire that Ghajar made, and bringing Iran to modernity. Here is one piece out of our correspondence .
